If you’ve never paddled in an outrigger, or lack confidence in your paddling abilities, the FCRCC Novice Program welcomes you to learn basic paddling technique, boat safety and the Hawaiian paddling culture.

This is a co-ed program open to adults of all ages, and is coached by experienced FCRCC outrigger paddlers. Through this program, you will learn outrigger paddling technique (no paddling experience necessary), develop paddling fitness and be introduced to Hawaiian culture.

It is a lot of fun too! Once you have completed the novice session, we encourage you to advance into one of the FCRCC Outrigger Programs.

Practices are held Mondays from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Wednesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, leaving from the FCRCC Burrard site.  Practices are twice each week for 4 weeks. Warning, the more practices you attend, the more quickly you will become addicted to outrigger paddling!

To register for a Novice OC-6 program (May, June, July or August), please go to the following link https://thriva.activenetwork.com/Reg4/Form.aspx?IDTD=7007642&RF=11709422

To participate in the Novice OC-6 program you must be a member of the FCRCC for the month you are participating in the program ($60). This is included in the $80 fee.  If you continue on in the program for more than one month, you will be asked to upgrade your membership to an individual member. The $60 one month trial membership fee will be credited towards the full membership fee.

The cost for the Novice OC-6 program is $80.00 plus GST.

We look forward to seeing you on the water – ALOHA!!
