Hello Everyone,

The Sudden Impact Dragon Boat team is still actively looking for both men and women to join us for the 2007 season.  We are a semi-competitive Dragon Boat team that will compete at FCRCC (does anyone know the dates yet and when you can register?), Bill Alley Memorial, pre-Alcan, Alcan, Nanimo, Victoria, Kelowna.  We will also be looking seriously at Whistler and ... Calgary?  There will also be some Sudden Impact Members paddling with the Australian Team in Sidney in April.

Please check us out at www.suddenimpactdbteam.com

PM me for more info.

Thanks

Sometimes teams of the host organization opt NOT to compete, and instead volunteer paddler and organizing services.

When Seattle's Team Sake organized their Seattle dragon boat races in the early 1990's- they did not paddle - but organized.  They did paddle in FUN Men's and Women's races at the end of the day - usually winnning them.

When Lotus Sports Club organizes the Bill Alley Memorial Dragon boat regatta - not all their paddlers race.  Most organize and volunteer.

When Ken Hong and Dieselfish organized the San Francisco Races many years ago - I was so surprised to see their paddlers volunteering and coordinating on the docks.

Cultus Lake Dragonfliers organize, host and paddle....  it was great to have their paddlers join us when we put together a late entry minus a full boat, this past August.

It would be a shame for teams NOT to be able to challenge Sudden Impact on their "home turf" on Harrison Lake.

I hope Sudden Impact gets to race for the Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Festival.  A Gung Haggis paddler paddled with the team at Harrison last year and had great fun.  I steered for SI for one race at Taiwanese Race.  It's always fun to see the team at races.

Thanks Todd.  You do our sport proud with all the kind words you express to all Dragon Boat Teams each and every year.

Good Luck to Gung Haggis and all Dragon Boat Teams in 2007.  With the exception of when we race each other ofcourse!  Razz
