The Water's Edge 3rd annual Dash for Charity has come and gone........couildn't beat the wonderful weather we got.....Great sun and a great racing location.

This event was co-sponsored with the Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak Center.  A big thank you to our great Volunteers, including the ladies from 7th Wave Team (Formerly known as the North Shore Sirens).

To help out Water's Edge, could you provide some feedback about this weekend's races?

IE: Did you like the race grid?
Was the racing fair and equitable?
    What would you change?
    How was the water officials?
    Did you like the marshalling?
What would you do to improve the Dash for charity?
    How was the race site?

PS Please provide constructive feedback.....

Thanks

first off, congrats TD Lightning! well done!

race grid was fair, marshalling was on time without running ahead of schedule so it gave teams time to relax and prepare....the weather was awesome and location couldnt be better for a small event - too bad the women's regatta moved from Deep Cove...maybe next year they will go back...the volunteers were cheery and the reason for heading out was well worth it.....

new lifejackets - wow!

only thing is to fix those oars and drums!!

great day and thanks to all organizers!

They raced in the final A (Pool A) race and did very well. To make it more interesting, their steersperson, is a brand new steersperson. She's never seen dragon boatting before and decided to learn how to steer...this was her first official race she's raced at.... See you all at the next race!

Unfortunately, I didn't grab all the sheets off the scoreboard....I will see if Water's Edge has records of the other heats.

Thanks Puppy....

this suggestion came via a private message to me:

The Deep Cove race was just fantastic.  We had a great time, really efficient, knowledgable people.  the only thing I can think of is maybe the teams coming back to the dock in order of lanes 1, 2, 3, as well.  I was doing some parallel parking that freaked me out when lanes 1 and 3 were already parked, and I had to squeeze in between. But really really minor...

Great day in the Cove.   Very well run, congrats to Waters Edge and Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak.   Our team had to wonder about the race grid that put us in our third race in 90 minutes (took our PDF's off just to put them straight back on) and up against two other teams who were only into their second races.   At least they were sprints and we did get our money's worth but PHEW!

What a great day and way to start off the season!  Everything ran smoothly and we all had a great time!  Thanks to Water's Edge and volunteers for all their hard work (those volunteer long sleeve t's were sharp!!) and to Deep Cove Canoe Kayak Club for hosting a great event!

Did you like the race grid?  Short but sweet, perfect!
Was the racing fair and equitable? No complaints
What would you change?  Couldn't have picked a more perfect place!
How was the water officials? Excellent, few boats had some warnings, stern but fair!
Did you like the marshalling?  again, no complaints
What would you do to improve the Dash for charity?  Everyone did an excellent job, you can't beat the venue!  Beer gardens are always a bonus... ; )
How was the race site? Great, not to crowded, lots of places to warm up, clean bathrooms...

Thanks to all the volunteers at the Dash for Charity - awesome job!  Congrats to all teams that raced - great racing!

Deep Cove was a very nice venue to hold the Dash for Charity, especially with great weather.  There was enough boat space between each lane - that's always good, in case of accidents.  Teams were able to put up tents and view the races from the grass area (nice).  I liked being close to the shops so that people can get a quick walk or just grab a quick bite while waiting for their next race.

Had a great time - hope to be back next year!
