What a fantastic weekend we had in Nanaimo!
Well organized event, great volunteeers, fabulolus spectator opportunities, the best beer garden ever, oh yeah...some racing oportunities too! Too bad the beer gardens ever had to close!
Next year perhaps we will bring more sunscreen and more sombreros...we will be better prepared.
So much fun we booked a hotel for next year before we left!
Thanks to the oragnizers for putting it all together, thanks to all the great people for sharing your time with us.
As relative rookies to the sport it is great to find a community of paddlers so positive and supportive.
We make each other better by being so!

I hear ya...the beer gardens were crazy!! It was a very good festival though...makes me want to paddle again. It was a suprising festival too ....I had Portland or the Dragonauts to win and PI along with either ssSteam Heat and NAVY leading the Platinum B......Portland, PI, Dragonauts and NAVY fought for first timing wise all weekend...I only wish I could have gotten in the tents to see the timing sheets. NAVY seemed to come out of no where and has really improved their finish this year. Good work guys....and Dragonauts....as pleasing to watch as always! I look forward to coming to the island for Victoria!

I have few pics of the races (Bad year for photos as there are so many professional photographers out there trying to earn a few bucks so I respectfully stay out of the way!
I got the cannon out for a few races and some nice Beer garden activity (which I will Gladly post!...LOL)
