anyone know where i can get a physical copy of the canadian safe boating guide?  i have to read it to get my operator's card/license but its all online and i would really hate to read an entire 70 page book online.  ive checked the libraries already to no avail.

thanks

Hi Junkie,

If you are near Dragon Zone next to Science World there are a few copies there for people to read / study. If not near there you might try a boat dealership or marina for a copy.

junkie:

try this link: http://shop.tc.gc.ca/TChtml/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?item=46009&language=US

From there it appears you can get it for free and they will ship it out to you.

Good luck!

If you are near Kits beach, I picked up my copy from the Kitsilano Coast Guard station.

The SBG can also be found at most marine supply stores - e.g., Steveston Marine & Nikka are just outside GI.

And The Quarterdeck (yachty stuff, books) on GI (across from Mulvaney's) should have it.

Always free ... the Coast Guard WANTS **everyone** to read - and understand!! - it.

If nothing else, PM me, & I'll get you a copy - I have a couple of bags of the current edition here at home (courtesy of the stuff I do with Canadian Power Squadron helping teach boating & navigation).
