hey,
Is there any vegan dragon boaters out there?  Got any tips for packing food for traveling for 2-3 day festivals? I seemed to pack to heavy last year for food, so hoping to do better this year.

Genny,
I'm vegan and have traveled successfully for years to festivals without carrying too much or starving.  I first arrange for the hotel to give me a mini-fridge so I can keep things fresh.  I usually just bring a few things from home - things that are cheaper at home and not hard to carry.  Then when I get to the race locale, I hit the local natural grocery stores and buy what's needed to get me through the event.  I've done web-searches and know of the more veggie friendly restaurants before I leave, too so I can go and get a good meal the night before racing.
Good luck and PM me if you want recommendations for West Coast venues, I've been to many.
