Dragon Zone will be hosting an OC Sprints (V6) clinic on Sunday April 9, 2017 at Creekside Paddling Centre in Vancouver (Olympic Village).
There will be three 3.0 hour sessions coached by Kamini Jain of Right Angle Performance.
There will be three 6-person Outrigger Canoes provided for each of the three sessions. Each 3.0 hour session will consist of a dry-land and an on-water component. The dry-land component will be a discussion with athletes about how to become involved in Outrigger Canoe sprints racing through CORA’s initiatives including Nationals, Trials and Worlds. It will also cover the rules of racing for Outrigger Canoe sprints and set the foundation of the skills that will be worked on while on the water. The on-water component will cover boat run, turns, starts, change-overs and training techniques for sprinting. Paddlers may register as individuals or as teams.
CORA Coaching Clinic Grant of $600 will enable setting fees at $40/person.
