Hi Guys,

I'm starting a thread here for everyone here (any team, anybody)interested in purchasing a full Carbon Fibre paddle from Burnwater.

The paddles are now certified by the I.D.B.F. and available for use at all Dboat competitions.


Here's the scoop straight from Burnwater rep himself:

For 20 or more paddles we can sell you the $150 Reactor with the
$10 lite Carbon T-handle for $140 USD.
Anything over 10 units will be $145.

That's a pretty good deal, and with the exchange rate the way it is right now, that's a screaming deal.

If you are interested, please post up, and the shaft length you'd like.  If you don't know, then we can arrange to meet at the docks for fitting.
I will have demo models available at a coming practice, hopefully this Saturday.  If you're unclear as to what shaft length to use, I can fit you to one while at the docks.

That's true, man I hope that's an error.  

I talked to Greg Lamb about the CF paddles, and he said they were good for use anywhere, but I dunno if he had Vic and Kel on his radar.

I sent an e-mail to Vic & Kel, hopefully they'll come back with some good news.


They are approved for use in Vancouver, which is the most important festival anyways, so at least it's not a complete waste.



On the Subject of Burnwater's Reactor paddle, I found out last night that they are currently redesigning it to add more strength through the base of the shaft.  Two paddles broke during Alcan, and one girl had a big chunk broken off on the blade area after smacking against another paddle.. in warm up.

They obviously didn't engineer the blade area to take high loads in all directions..

I'm waiting for word on how they redesign the paddle at Burnwater.  If it is not sufficient, then I'll be looking into this one

I don't have any feedback on this one, but ZRE has been around for a long time, they know how to design a good blade.

and on ANOTHER note, I will have 5 Reactors (47, 47, 48.5, 49, 50) available for use at Saturday's practice.
