ditto on the fun, good times.  especially the men's race, Ridiculously Fresh Maxies owns the title for heaviest crew on the water without a doubt, and we didn't do too badly considering our team only existed for 1 race... but man, those teak boats are scary when you load about 4000 pounds of man into them

That race was sooo much fun. Sorry for the crazy rate there. And a warning to all others who may cross paths with the Ridiculously Fresh Maxies: "RESPECT THE C**K!" hahahah fun times

Just imagine what the boats were like at Alcan races in days past, when they loaded 20 men into the boat. 

Oh yeah...  they were mostly caucasian and they were all fire fighters!

I agee - medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in women's and men's races.  Otherwise - who is going to pay $100 extra for the opportunity to come 2nd or 3rd to False Creek?  Some teams did not enter the men's and women's races until Sunday.

Well it seems that paddlers are enjoying not only the Taiwanese Cultural Festival but also the experience of racing in CLASSIC TRADITIONAL wooden dragon boats.

Did anybody notice that it is the 20th anniversary that teak dragon boats have been in Vancouver!
