The Dragon Boat event has become a Vancouver institution in the years since its inception in 1989.
Such an institution that several teams of paddlers from the Dragon Boat festival are featured on a new international $1.25 postage stamp issued by Canada Post.

Canada Post prides itself on creating a stamp program that promotes our country's history, geography, environment and events. For each of the past two years, a single set of ten stamps has captured all this and more, quickly becoming our most anticipated issue of the summer. On June 12, 2003, Canada Post will once again pay tribute to all our country has to offer by issuing a third set of Tourist Attractions stamps.
