Thanks,

Congrats to the Chiro team from Sudbury! It seems they were the class of the field.  Great racing for the other crews as well! Did  FCRCC go with only 11 men or did one of the men in Alcan that couldn't go change his mind and race? Looking forward to the 2000m results.

I've been told (but correct me if i'm wrong) that the FCRCC Mixed got silver in the 200 spints and 2000m. 4th in the 500m ...there was definite lane issues that affected all teams favorably in lane 2 and unfavorably in lane 5/6....but hey that's racing

FCRCC women got silver in the 2000m (it was very close) and took home a bronze as well (cant remember which event)

apparently, only 11 men raced except for the 500m when one more was able to attend

the women did huge double duty as many other women's crews had a full roster solely to their women's events....

both the mixed and women qualified for penang!

big cheers to all those folks!!!

well...we raced 11 men for the whole festival except for the 500m final where one of our own surprisingly showed up...it was a definite confidence boost...

and yes our FCRCC women did pull double duty at Calgary racing 7 races a day!!  hats off to you ladies!!!  you ROCK!!!

It was great racing by all...an experience I'll never forget!!  Kudos to other teams competing in the Nationals...the level of competition across Canada is awesome!!!

And how do you know this?  Just a feeling or is there some science behind what you speak? Just curious so that the next time I am in Calgary I can sound intelligent with my knowledge of their race course and not sound like a poor sport  Shocked

We really enjoyed meeting your Western teams this weekend. You really made us feel welcome and we have tons of respect for all the teams that welcomed us. All teams at the event showed alot of class.

We coughed up a few lungs in that final 500m - All the teams in that final really overachieved.

Waters Edge were fantastic for the organization and how they ran the festival. (We really like the start docks, what a great idea). Poor Jackie is ready to shoot me for pestering her all weekend!

It's too bad the weather was so crappy on Sunday.  We had the same identical weather for our festival in Sudbury all day.  It really sucked. I hope the False Creek paddler is OK from the end of that 500m semi.

Hopefully we can make it out west for some of your festivals in the future. I understand that it never rains in Vancouver!

Good luck to your paddlers in Sydney this fall

the False Creek women were just machines!  i dunno how they do it... but they muster the strength and energy to help pull the mixed crew through time and time again!  7 races a day for the ladies...  our guys were great... but we couldn't have done it without our women's crew.   Clapping

and sudbury was absolute thrill to race against.  the 500m semi was probably the most exciting race of the weekend for me...  your crew was very friendly and have great competitive spirit. congrats on your 1st place wins this weekend!

I noticed some comments on Lane 6.  Dragnum didn't seem to have any problems with it when they won the Division A Final.
