Hi Everyone!

This is my first post on here and our team just finished up the Edmonton Dragonboat Festival. We were wondering if there were other teams from the Edmonton area that read this forum and what their thoughts were about the festival.

We started in 2005 and we remembered there used to be teams from out of town. Although the number of teams this year has grown?? we were wondering whatever happened to the out of town teams.

What were the results? I've been trying to get through to the Edmonton site but it seems to be down.

Edmonton was a lot of fun.  There was your standard stuff like waiting for the Edmonton Queen to go by and dock, un-equal lanes, and the whole racing upriver with a dog legged course but overall a really enjoyable weekend.

Only real complaint would be the website to get Sunday's start times, although I'm sure they've heard enough about that already.  Well, okay one more on a less serious note:  The McDonalds kid's playland were pumping the Abba well into the beer garden drowning out the infinitely better Rage Against the Machine from 102.9's booth.

Not a complaint but a point of information is that the starter really got you in and out fast!  Must be on the ball on the line (goes without saying I suppose).  The volunteers all around did a great job.

There were quite a few out of town teams in the Breast Cancer Survivor division:  Halifax, Prince George and Lethbridge (forgive me if I left any out) were there for Breast Friends' 10th anniversary as a team.  Not as many out of town mixed as far as I can remember.

Paddlebot was a great team on and off the water.

And finally the most important point:  The beer prices were superb: 3 beers for $10!

You would have to host those pictures on an image hosting website. Google them up and you would find tons of free ones out there. One such example is http://www.imageshack.us

Once your pics are hosted, just insert the URL of the pics on to the post. Either giving the link or using the Image tag (Insert image button near the emoticons)

Good luck.

Nice, but it's a bit big.

I'd recommend Photobucket.com instead, as you can organize your pictures and resize them more easily than on imageshack. You can also add more pictures at once, rather than have to reload imageshack over and over again.
