The Lotus Sports Club invites dragon boat teams and supporters to join us in welcoming the dragon boat season with the 2010 Lotus Dragon Boat Regatta.  This fun local race is held on the waters of Indian Arm in Burnaby.  The Lotus Sports Club looks forward to hosting new and returning dragon boat teams at its 13th annual dragon boat race.

This weekend is the Lotus Sports Club's Bill Alley Memorial Dragon Boat Regatta at the Barnett Marine Park in North Burnaby. This race has been around for the past 12 years (this is the 13th). I haven't raced this race in years so I can't comment about it much. It does have it's share of returning teams like Gung Haggis Fat Choy and Red Fusion.

This year has 24 teams including a number of Junior, Women's and Senior Master teams like Lotus Sports Club Juniors, FLCC Women on Water and FCRCC False Creek Grandragons.

Hello Everyone,

SI Liquid Silver is short some paddler for this regatta.  Anyone have a few extra youths willing to jump in our boat?  Yes I know short notice but if you could help that would be great.

Thanks, Ian, for the clip. I have taken the liberty of fixing up the link a bit.

A terrific day of paddling with challenging water, of course.

And thanks to all the Lotus folks, who work so hard to put this regatta on. Where else do the volunteers stand waist deep in cold water to steady the boats?

We just noticed that the results for the Regatta are now available here

Congrats to FCRCC Grandragons, Pirates and FLCC Fort Fusion on coming Top 3 at the event in the Mixed Division. For the Women's Challenge, FLCC dominated the field with Top 3 coming from their Fort Fury, Kindred Spirit and Sun Dragons crews. Sudden Impact Liquid Silver beat out Lotus Sports Club Juniors for the Junior Challenge.
