Doesn't look as strong a regatta as in previous years.  FCRCC is only making a token appearance, no Wasabi.  Where have all the teams gone?  Luckily the fees are not very high, if they were it would suck.

Almost starting to look like a festival to skip next year.

With that being said any predictions?

Not sure what you mean, since there were 42 teams last year and there are 48 teams this year.

Ace of Hearts and/or Queen of Hearts will be more than enough competition for most teams I'm sure.

FYI.   This is one of the very few "women's only" regattas.  This regatta allows women from all over the lower mainland, BC and even the USA to come together and race, meet old friends and enjoy a day of racing for all categories and levels.   The ABIAB women are "AWESOME!!!" and we all enjoy watching them race and particiapte in their ceremony.  This year, it is unfortunate that the Wasabi teams could not make it.  I believe they have a regatta on this same weekend.   They did try to move their regatta but were unable, otherwise, they would be attending.

This is definitely a regatta that will continue to thrive.  I believe we are into year 24!! so if you decide to skip it next year,  you will be missing out.

And the weather forecast is for sun!!!!  YIPPEE!!!!  Can't wait to see all who are racing.    Let's eat up the creek ladies!!!!!

Like she said... skip and you're missing out!

The False Creek Women are making an appearance at the end of the day because many of them are racing beforehand for Jericho (OC)

And yes, Wasabi wanted to make it but had a scheduling conflict with a local regatta.

We are up 5 teams from last year, not including False Creek Women (counted last year, not counted this year)

We are also at a new venue this year... will be exciting  Cool Free sunglasses, and a sunny forecast!!

My thoughts on the day:

1.  The racing was good.  It is definitely fun seeing all of the women and their costumes warming up and then paddling hard.
2.  Venue was great.  Having everything in the plaza was a great idea.  Really got everyone into the atmosphere.
3.  Weather was good for racing, not too cold and not too hot and no rain!
4.  Pretty organized and well run, could post the results in more places.
5.  Some of the boats were a bit dirty compared to others but for a fun regatta it is not that important.
6.  FCW did an awesome job, after racing for 90 minutes, at Jericho, to come and race for 2 minutes to show how it is done was well done.

Overall I would comeback, hope others think so also (Tiger?).

Hope there are 50 teams next year

Great venue this year! The sun shone through, there was great shopping and the costumes were fantastic. Here are some pictures of this year's FC Women's regatta.
